Re: is there any way to convert automatic on the tree to on the floor?

i am also the proud owner of a 74 2 door custom with a th350 on the tree. it is not really that hard to convert it to a floor shifter. i just bought a b&m ratchet shifter and am waiting for warm weather to put it in. all you really need is the shifter and the instalation kit that should come with it. basically you just need to drill a few holes and run the new cable to the tranny. their is a few other smaller details that i cant remember but they should be outlined in the instructions. that with a shift kit will make it a lot more fun to drive.

well before it started to get cold outside i started to rip the interior out. i am in the process of installing bucket seats, new carpet, and painted the dash flat black. alot better than the ugly drab green it was before. I am spraying the floor with undercoating and using a special kind of paint on the vynal and upholistry. changing it to black. i got the floor shifter, a tach, and a few other gagues.{still havent installed them yet}, three spoke steering wheel. since i bought it it has duel exhaust 2in with glasspacks. i havent bought it yet but i am getting 2and a half inch pipes, exhaust cutouts, hpipe, and flowmaster 50 series stainless mufflers. I got a shift kit, floor mats from my parents for christmas, and my G.F. got me chrome valve covers. not to mention the 8mm race wires and the hypetronics cap, rotor, and coil combo. by the end of summer i hope to have my new exhaust, holly 750 street avenger carb, and intake, lunati cam and lifters, and convert to a electric fan. I have lots of body work to do. i have fusted rear qtr pannles and a few dings here and there. i also want a 2 inch cowl hood. oh yea and i have a set of corvette style rally rims that i just repainted. they look sweet. so what have u done to ur baby?

Re: is there any way to convert automatic on the tree to on the floor?

well i just got it for christmas so not alot. but the guy before me put dual glasspacks, he also put keystone radier rims on it (knock off of the cragar ss) i have to put new front coil springs and shocks on her. yesterday i put a new power steering pump on. (the other 1 had a leak)
after the front suspension is dialed in then the fun starts. i want to get the flowmaster delta 40 series and some edelbrock shorty headers. then i want to get a high energy cam. the body work is perfect so im good there. there is already a rochester 4 bbl carb on it so im good there for a while. i want to get eibach suspension all the way around. mainly i want the 2 inch cowl hood!!!! man novas look bad ass with the cowl induction hood. any info on the hood let me know. price location.

Re: is there any way to convert automatic on the tree to on the floor?

ive seen the 2 inch cowl hoods in summit and jegs. they are fiberglass reproduction parts {light weight} and can be painted. the direct bolt on hoods will prollly cost u about 450 to 500 whyle the lift off hoods are like 250, but who wants a lift off hood. ide check jegs. u sound like u know alot about suspention. suspentions arent my strong point could u explain what u r going to do to yours?

If you start looking at fiberglass stuff stay away from unlimited products they will screw you over big time, plus their products are horrible. I bought a cowl hood and fenders that were defective, tried to return and they refused it. So now I am stuck with $750 of crap sitting in my garage.

Check out my page http://www.cardomain.com/id/72_supernova I put a B&M megashifter on it and it works great. Look at the rest too to see what else I have done to it.

make sure you get the stearing colum from the same year or close year stick car cause you wont have the auto colum shaft on it
