I hate to say this but I think Toyotas are more reliable based on past experiences but Hondas are crazy reliable as well.

I think both companies produce an equally reliable vehicle.

Thumbs up

I agree... both have strengths and weaknesses, but generally they're both good picks... just depends on what you're loooking for.

Re: honda or toyota

For reliablity, i would go with Toyota hands down. Those cars just keep on trucking for ever. Hondas do a good job as well. But if you want to have a little more fun when you drive i would get a Honda. So overall i would pick a honda over a toyota because they both have imaculate maintence records, but honda has more options for somthing a little more fun. just my 2 cents.

Toyotas are bigger, but Hondas are a lot of fun to drive. Put it this way Corolla- looks boring like a school teachers car or something your parents would drive, civic- depends on what you do, but it is a universal car, anybody looks good in it. Its the same with the camry and Accord. I do like the new camry though. I like Toyotas for their reliablity but the same can be said for a Honda. Parts are cheaper for a Honda as well.

I donno. Sometimes I wouldn't mind having a four door corolla just to beat on. The odds are, it would be faster than my Civic.

Yeah, when you think of family car, you will think corolla and Camry. The Accord and Civic seem a bit sportier. If I could affor it, I would have one of each.

Re: honda or toyota

My own experience -- probably not typical -- has been better reliability with Honda than Toyota. My '98 Accord has required almost zip for repairs, and I'm at 172,000 miles.

Meanwhile, my '98 Avalon has required quite a bit of attention. 124,000 miles.

I'm the original owner on both.

The two cars have been exposed to just about the same environmental insults, and the Honda's paint has held up noticeably better. Plus, it's nicer looking paint to begin with.

And I agree with the previous posts that Hondas are just more fun to drive. Hands down.

Having said all that -- love my Priuis! I don't think Honda hybrids give Toyota much competition.

Re: honda or toyota

toyota paint is not know to stand up to the elements very well here in phoenix. My sisters corolla had to be repainted 4 years after she got it to sun fading. (the black car was white)
