Emergency Brake Light Problem

I have noticed, when I take a corner really hard sometimes, the emergency brake light comes on in the upper right corner of the dash. is there any particular place I should be looking for the cable to be snagged, or rubbing against something? its on a 1998 SE with the Duratec in it.

thanks.

Re: Emergency Brake Light Problem

You could actually be low on brake fluid. This will cause the brake light to come on when you are in a hard turn because the fluid will go to one side of the master cylinder. Fill the master cylinder to the max level and see if it goes away.

I also concur that you are probably low on brake fluid.

Barring that, another possibility is a loose parking brake pedal; additionally, the pedal engages a switch that right next to pedal on top, and yours could just be extremely touchy (which would call for cleaning or replacement).
