98 Sunfire Convertible Window switch

I plan to troubleshoot my power window switch on my 1998 Sunfire. Maybe some of you have done this in the past, the Haynes manual makes no reference to the removal/disconnection... 1) is the part easy to remove (it looks like it); 2) is it possible to switch left with right sides once the switch is out; 3) if I need to replace the switch, is this the same part as the two-switch door model used in non-convertible cars?

(I am having the issue where the window only goes up or down in spurts, and I have to wait a minute or more to get it to move again.)

Appreciate any feedback. I certainly want to rule out the switch before I tear off the door panels and attempt to replace the motor.

Re: 98 Sunfire Convertible Window switch

I had my power window quit working (drivers side), and figured it was the motor. Took the door panel off and got to looking around and inside the door is a foam rubber guide that the window sits in when it is down. This was all bunched up and seperated from its little metal tabs in the door that keep it in place. It was preventing the window from coming down. Otherwise, those switches stick easy and burn the motor out fast. These motors are riveted in, and so, replacement involves drilling them out and all that.... geez...
