Re: Running rich
gm maft and translator is what you are going to need. or just make sure you have a good connection on the 2g maf.

Re: Running rich
Venting will richen your shifts, but if the car is always too rich, it's because you have 660s and no tuning or logging whatsoever.

Re: Running rich
32% too rich from the injectors, but another ~20% leaner because of the 2g MAS, strange combination. And 26 psi is way too much boost to be running while you have no way to tune the car properly, or even log to see if its knocking or not.
Turn the boost down, and finish modding the car (tuning/logger).Edit> If I sound a little short, it's because I'm offended when people bump their thread after only 29 minutes. Like we sit here all day

Re: Running rich
Ok, Thanks Guys. I'm At 1.3 Right Now, Is That Still Too Much? My Buddy Told Me That If I Invest In An Safc I Can Take Care Of Some Of My Issues. Would I Still Need The Gm Maf And The Translator?

Re: Running rich
Yes sir, the 2g maf is still reading that you are getting more air than you are so it is going to run rich whenever you shift. This also depends on your car though. When i was venting the car ran the same way as it does now.

Re: Running rich
Ok, I'm Just Gonna Spend The $$$$$ And Do It Right Then. New Gm Maf, And Translator. With The Translator I Will Be Able To To Adjust The A/f Ratio, So Even If It Is Still Running A Bit Rich I Can Compensate For It. Thanks Much Everyone!!!!!

Re: Running rich
stop and think for 2 seconds. If you have larger than stock injectors, you need to compensate for them. MAFt isn't a great tuning device so you will need an S-AFC or better.

Re: Running rich
The newer versions of the MAFt have the capability to tune just as well as the AFC, but the AFC is MUCH easier to use...

Re: Running rich
I've heard that the afc is easy to use as well. but I'm trying to keep the cost to a minimum if i can.

Re: Running rich
Depends on how rich. How do you know you are running rich? 11:1 is typically ideal on pump gas for us, but anything down to 10:1 will still make power. Stock AFR is 9.5:1 once you are over 2.1 g/rev.
Edit> In the case of the original post, the stock 9.5:1 would become 6.5:1 with 660s, but then the 2g MAS will bring it back out to around 8.2:1. That is rich enough to cause a serious loss of power. I would also be checking my compression. Excessive fuel can wash the oil off the cylinder and accelerate wear.
