Need security advice for Golf GTI VR6

I just started this forum, to start things off I would like to say hello.

I just picked up a '95 Golf GTI VR6, it has a few upgrades to it that i'm pretty excited about and I would like to add a few security systems in place. ie. ignition/computer kill switches, removable hood handle, non factory alarm system and the crazy one; the removable gear shifter, etc.

I know this is going a little over board, but I do love my VR6's. I had a '93 Corrado VR6 taken from me a few years ago, so i would like to protect this one.

I was thinking of rewiring the key ignition wires to another location of the car using simple toggle switches, leaving only the steering lock mech. behing the wheel. Are there any other parts of the car (electrical) that would kill the system without disconnecting the computer?

I would really appreciate some advice, let me know what you think.

thanks

All your going to do is open up a can of worms... Dont mess with the factory wiring.. unless you LIKE electrical problems.
