bypassing the regulator

I have a 93 2wd with a 350. The engine has plenty of power, but im tired of being cut off by the regulator on the freeway. Is there any way to bypass the regulator thats not rediculously expensive? thanks in advance, any input is appreciated

Re: bypassing the regulator

How fast are you going when the computer cuts off the fuel (rev limiter)? A jet chip or hypertech chip would eliminate the rev limiter.Your 93 chev should not shut off before about 95 to 100 mph. If it stops going before then you have something else wrong--fuel filter most likely.

Re: bypassing the regulator

I'd check for to see if a Nelson Tune is available for your truck, i dont know if they tune trucks that old or not. But if they do its a lot more power for less money.

Re: bypassing the regulator

Its similar to a hypertech prgrammer only you send your trucks computer chip to be tuned. Takes the factory pcm and adjusts it for maximum performance.
