Wanting to buy an Accord EX V-6

Hello all, I am new to this board and was interested in the Honda Accord EX V-6 Coupe. I have heard many good things about it and am tempted to buy one soon. I am currently test driving a 2000 model with 44.000 miles on it with asking price from dealer at $20,000. Also the same dealership has a 1998 Coupe with 66,000 miles and an asking price of $18,000. I know these are just asking prices and is negotiable. However I was curious as to how much these cars are actually worth and how much more haggling I should do with my dealer. Basicly I just wanted some feedbacks from Honda owners and see how much they think it should cost.
Thanks for any info. John

those prices way too high. for 2000 one buying price should be $17,000-$18,000, 1998 should be $13,500-$14,500.
check this out for pricing -> http://www.kbb.com , but remember KBB prices are little bit on high side.

BTW, next generation of Accords is due this September, so may be you should hold on for a while to see how 7gen will look like.
another thing, since you're looking for coupe, 7gen Accord 2dr will be more sportier (it suppose to fill empty spot that Prelude leaves open on market)

Those prices listed are low kelly blue book, they vary form car to car. I have a 99 Coupe for sale for 17,700 if you want pics let me know.

WOA! John,

I signed up to this forum just to tell you something so listen up man... I have been shopping for a new 2002 Accord EX w/ Leather Auto (4cyl.) all over Central and Western New York for the last 4 days... I am about a week from my purchase, I am waiting for the next month, and hoping that the incentives stay the same... I was quoted $20,532 for the car described above from a dealer in Rochester NY,,, the offer was matched by a dealer in Binghamton NY,,, the sticker for that car is $23,890 and I met many a salesperson willing to sell me the car between $21,000 and $22,000,,, The dealers that were willing to go $500 cheaper were pulling out of their 'hold back' and 'dealer cash' in order to move the vehicles... I am a recent colelge graduate so I am recieveing 4.75% financing,,, I do not know if you are considering paying cash or financing, but if you are financing you will be hard pressed to find interest rates on used autos that low.

I just had to tell you,,, do not spend that $ on a used car man... best wishes.

Chris

I'm picking up my new EX V-6 this Friday, wish I could have gotten it in eternal blue (only available with 4-cylinder car), had to get black with the quartz leather. Just had to have the V-6!
BTW : Final price - $21,935.00 + tax, title, tag with no trade.

Sounds like you got a pretty decent deal. I wanted to get blue as well, but went with the gold.

Nice choice!

Well......I went Friday and the car was gone! The manager that did the deal was off the next morning and another manager rolled a deal on it!!!
No worries, they have another one coming from Jacksonville tomorrow, same options/color, and are taking-off an extra $200.00 for my inconvenience (can we get spell check on here??) !!! I'll post the results!

UPDATE - The dealer pulled some more crap, tried to charge me a shipping fee, raised the price, and pissed me off so completely I wouldn't buy a Honda ANYWHERE! So, the wife and I strolled down to the Volkswagen dealer, drove a Jetta GLI VR6, fell in love with it, got a lot more warranty, and paid $3K less than the Accord EX V6. Now doing a happy-dance!!
BTW - The 2003 Accord is UUUUGGGGLLLLLYYYYY, IMHO!!!!!

Thats the usual bs dealers try and pull. When I do my negotiations I make it clear that I the price I want is an "out the door" price. Its all the money they are going to get. They can write it up any way they want, but they aren't getting any more money for any reason.

I'm really trying to get a Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe too, but I need to scrounge up some more dough. I got a Corolla CE with 23,000 miles on it with Power everything. Think that can get me a could trade-in? I found a dealer that has the Accord I'm looking for which is a '98 with 80,000 miles on it for 14k. Think thats a good deal?

14K is to much for a five model year Accord car with 80K. Even loaded I wouldn't go pass 13K and try to get close to 12.
