CRX info

I would say, write down the VIN, call the dealer or an insurance company and ask them to tell you what is up with your car. Other than that, you can narrow it down to HF or not by looking at the exhaust manifold right at the block. If it looks like a turbo manifold and has a catalytic converter hooked to it, you have an HF. For a picture of what the manifold looks like, go to www.homemadeturbo.com. Good luck!

:flash:

Check the manifold. If its a dual point then its a dx. The si and hf have the multi point and if its an si it should have 16 valves on it. If its 8 then its an hf.

Lightbulb Identification

All 88-91 CRX VIN numbers contain the following: JHMED and a number. If your VIN has a 9, after the D, it is an Si. Otherwise it is either an HF or DX. Yes, the Si is the only 88-91 with a sliding steel panel sunroof.

on the back of the car by the hatch, the SI and HF models both have the designation there in that triangular peice, while a DX does not.

if the car has a painted sunroff, then its an si.

si engine code starts d16****, while the HF and DX start d15****
