Could somone explain to me...
I have a Honda XR 650. So basicaly im wondering if theres more to CC to speed. I KNOW what a Yamaha R 6 is faster, but They relatively have the same CC ammount. Though Streetbikes are made to go fast, would a Yamaha R 6 fit well with me?
I am going to get my motorcycle permit very soon and was just wondering on your opinions. I think a R 6 might be a little much as a first bike but i want to buy a bike with a good ammount of power and finesse. I have a lot of riding experience though im all for safety : ) Your thoughts? p.s Did anyone else here about the guy on an R6 crashing into a car which flew 100 feet!?! |

motors will produce different power depending not just on cc's but whether its a twin or four or even a triple. how high tech the motor is and so many other things.
think about the moto gp. they run 500cc bikes and and r6 won't beat them. power to weight ratios come into it as well. a gixer 600 has the same power to weight ratio as a cbr1100xx. yet not much difference in straight line performance until higher speeds and the torque of a larger capacity kicks in. i can't really say that an r6 is an ideal first bike but thats my opinion. i recommend starting on a bike that you don't mind dropping and with a little less power so as not to endanger yourself with possible warp speeds
