Hey there. I'm just waiting for my 2005 245HP Taco to show up. I'm curious...what are my options for increasing power? Which is the best power increase for the best price? Any ideas would help! Thanks!

Re: what are my options for increasing HP?!
id say exhaust, and a cold air intake. might void your warranty.

Re: what are my options for increasing HP?!
I doubt that there is enough data available to really know what works best, the engine is too new. Since the engine is suposed to use premium fuel I assume it is already running high compression.
I don't have any performance suggestions but the reliability of the engine is currently unknown. If it was my vehicle I would wait until more information is available before making modifications. Or stick with Toyota parts only until you are sure there isn't going to be some warranty problems. Clifton |

exhaust and intake void warranty?? On what planet?
I highly doubt that.............. An intake and exhaust would be a safe start, I don't think there is much out there other than that right now........? |

on what planet?! planet Canada
. warranty here isnt like the USA. I can't put in any performance enhancing mods unless they are directly through Toyota without voiding my warranty. I can get a K&N filter, but not an air charger. I can, however, get a Borla exhaust through toyota and it won't effect my warranty. So yeah, that sucks, but I guess that means I'll go with the Borla. Anyone have borla right now? whats the word on borla? Thanks |

The V6 has been in the 4Runner for a couple of years now. Not really all that new. I haven't heard of any reliability problems.

Also, IMO, a cold air intake is a waste of money. You couldn't give me one unless you can show me dyno data that show some power gain.
