a/c problem

I was wondering if anyone knows what this could be? 97 lumina 3.1
Air is coming out of vents but not quite as fast as it used to nor is it getting real cold as used to. Recently had it charged and still not real cold. Compressor is kicking on but is a little noisy rattlely at times. Am hearing what seems to be water running from the inside of the car after using heat but no antifreeze on floor board. Could this be related problem? If anyone can help please let me know. I have health problems and cannot be without air. Thank you

Re: a/c problem

Is it sweating condensation on the ground outside when it is humid out? When you open the hood with the a/c on, are the low pressure lines cold and sweating?

Sometimes the core drain can get blocked, and the evap core is swimming in water, reducing air flow, but they usually start piddling water on the interior floor at that point.

Possible the evap core is hogged up with mold and dirt, and airflow is not making it through it fast enough.

Does it do it regardless of the setting (max a/c, normal)?

I had a customer once who, like you, ran the a/c for health reasons, and always used MAX, because that recycles the air, no outside air brought in, so less allergens. She had the same complaint. After finding that it worked pretty good on normal settings, I found a plastic bag that had been sucked up into the air return under the dash on the passenger's side. Voila! Problem solved!

Re: a/c problem

Thank you for the promp reply, It ended up being that and then some. The compressor was also leaking. Got new one and all is working well now. The evap core was cleaned and now my air is blowing cold again with full force. Thanks again
