Can anyone give me some tips on the rear brake adjustment wheel. I can't get my adjustment tool to loosen the pads, I can't get proper leveragethe rear coil spring is so close, I can't seem to get proper leverage. I am able to tighten the wheel so I know it's not rusted. Any suggestions?
Thanks! |

Re: 1995 rear drum brake removal
Hi, forgive me if I tell you what you already know. I had to struggle with my drum this week on my '96. I see you know which way is looser - on mine it was roll the wheel down. Do you know that you also have to push the automatic adjuster foot away from the wheel first, using a different tool? If you can get the drum off of the other side, you can "practice" to get the feel and position right while being able to see what you are doing. I use a small 4" screwdriver to push the foot away, and hold it away, and then I use a brake adjuster tool to spin the wheel to loosen it. Make sense?
Hope that helps. |
