tranny help

i need some tranny help.

i have a 1996 plymouth breeze and i was doing a burnout one day and slammed it into 2nd and i wheel hopped in the front end and it slammed down and snaped a piece of the case off and it started to pour out a liquid. I was thinkin hey tranny fliud. im fucked i gotta buy a new tranny and i cant drive the thing. i took it for a lil ride today and it seems fine but i wanna know: how do i check the tranny fluid, its not spilling fluid now and none of the gears grind or are stiff to get into. so im thinkin hey maybe i can just take the tranny out and get my dad to fix it. he is a welder and im sure he could patch it up. i just wanna know how do i check the transmission fluid. and no check engine light is on either.
