distributor wiring help
I am working on my friends 92 formula. we took the dizzy cap off and checked for dust etc, but all of the marks we made on the wires (used a sharpie) came off.
i called a friend that works at advance and he gave me the sequence or 1-3-6-4-8-5-7-2 but it is doing me no good since #1 isnt marked on the cap. i believe it should be on the back of the cap, and there is a line there, but i have tried the sequence starting #1 on both sides of it and it makes no difference. can someone post a pic or a very good description of which terminal is #1 as well as verifying the sequence for me please. TIA Doug |

Re: distributor wiring help
your engine firing order is
Rear (8) (7) (6) (5) (4) (3) (2) (1) Front turn the engine using the harmonic balancer until it sets to zero, then check to make sure that the number one cylinder is up top (take a screw driver or something and put in the whole, dont jam just slide it in to make sure its up top) if not, then turn the motor over one more rotation till it sets to zero again and it should be up top then...then, once timing is set to zero, and cylinder is up top, look at where the rotor button is pointing, start there using it as the terminal for cylinder number one. I believe the order that you have for the distributor is correct, start where the rotor button was pointing as 1, then go in a clockwise direction... good luck and let us know how it turns out... |
