Moving to California from Canada

Hi, newbie here. I'm moving to the LA area from Western Canada with my baby named Alexandra, which is 98 Civic. Does anyone know if Civics from Canada matches California standards? If not, what should I do? Please help.

Re: Moving to California from Canada

the only thing that is different is the emissions. canada as i understand (except insome places) do not have emissions laws for cars. when you move to cali you might have a hard time getting it registered. you NEED to pass a smog test in cali inorder to have it registered.

Just a suggestion but you might want to consider selling it to someone who will take good care of it in Canada. The sad truth is you bring it to CA car thieves might just break your heart.
