I'm currently looking at a 96 Firebird and i have some questions about it. i was wondering how they preform in the winter? and are the stock speakers loud?

In the winter snow, they're horrible. Most people who own a Firebird or Camaro or any other sporty rear wheel drive vehicle have a "beater car" to drive during the winter. The same goes with wet roads. I had an accident with my bird and slammed sideways into a tree because i was turning too fast while the road was still wet from the night before when it rained. But dont let this discourage you, they're a blast to drive on those nice sun shiney days.

And as for the speakers, if the Firebird you're looking at has the 10 speaker Monsoon sound system in it.. then yes, it can get really loud and sounds excellent. I can guarentee you that you will be pleased with it's sound. I still have all my stock speakers (which are now 10 years old) and they're still kicking beautifully.

I disagree.

Get a good set of snow tires, or hell, even all-seasons, and you will be fine.

Well, yeah true. I was just repeating what others have told me. I didn't even think of snow tires. But.. living in Florida.. that must not be suprising lol.

Re: New Firebird for me.

i have all season tires on my camaro and i drive it all year round.. even here in Michigan where we get quite a bit of snow. It really isnt bad, i like it better than driving a FWD car..

Re: New Firebird for me.

alright, thanks for the info guys. i was thinking like everytime it snows, im going to get in a crash. but i guess not. how much do "snow" tires run? and if any body could give me a link to good snow tires, thatd be wonderful.

KaotiKCamaro5, you live in michigan too? where are you located at? im from Flushing.
