Water leak on passenger side

I've got a water leak on the passenger side of my 95 Civic. On auto.consumerguide.com, it says this about that problem:

Water leak: There may be water leaking into the passenger footwell because of insufficient sealer on the seam at the firewall. Look for rust on the floor pan and run water over the right lower corner of the windshield to watch for water leaks before buying the car. (1992-95)

Now, I took silicone and filled the crack between the front windshield and the black plastic piece at the bottom of it, thinking this would fix the problem. However, it didn't and my passenger side is soaked again. Has anybody else had this problem or could anyone advise me on what to do to fix this?

Re: Water leak on passenger side

I had the same prolem up until last week and all it took for me was to stick a lil marine ruer silicone etween that lack outter trim piece and the bottom of the windshield and then get new little plastic circle things that pin it down, and then around the side of thhat plastic trim piece. before i did it I had aout an inch of rainwater on my passenger side flooroard, afterward i dried out the soundproofing and havent gotten any water in it since another suggestion would be to apply a little silicone or whatever youre using around the corners and sides of the windows as well, because I was seeing little beads of warer running down the sides of my windor as well. if my ecu wasnt elevated it would have gotten fried. no matter what dont try drilling a hole in the floor to help drain it that will only make it worse. my uddy's integra has the same problem and he says that it is the back of the blower motor that is the culprit.

Kolea, do you have a sunroof? Check around your ecu for a drain hose.. it shoud go past it and out the car, but mine for some reason was cut off right there to drain onto the floor. I wasn't too happy when I found this out.

Just picked up a '95 EX Coupe and low and behold, the passenger side is wet. But the front or slated part and sides are dry, just where your right foot would go is wet. Is this where your leaks were/are?

Re: Water leak on passenger side

I had the same issue with a 92 DX for years. I got into a minor fender bender and had to replace the hood and bumper. When I put the new hood on, I sealed the heck out of the hinges for the hood. Wa-la no more water leak in the passenger compartment.
