95 SOHC, alternator specs?

Hey there,
I'm going to be swapping out alternators on a 95 neon, SOHC. I was wondering if anyone knew the torque specs for the new alternator, and how much i should tighten the belt? Also, if there are any wierd things to look out for? something unexpected or like quirks?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know the torque spec's off the top of my head, but just get them nice and snug. Do not overtighten. The belt should have some slack, maybe 1/4" either way. Here is some advice I found:

From the top of the engine, reach down and disconnect the "B+" and "field" connectors (use a 10mm socket on a screwdriver handle).

From the top of the engine, loosen, but do not remove the upper adjusting bolt. From the wheelwell, loosen the lower adjustment pivot bolt. Again from the top of the engine, loosen the belt tensionning bolt sufficiently to remove the drive belt from the alternator pulley.

From the wheelwell, remove the three [3] lower altermator bracket attaching bolts. Sliding your hand from underneath the bracket, hold the lower pivot bolt nut with your fingers and remove the bracket, bolt and nut. From the top, remove the nut from the upper adjusting bolt. Slide the alternator off the bolt and allow it to drop on to the steering crossmember. From the wheelwell, rotate the alternator so that the pulley is facing up and remove it through the opening between the engine and the crossmember.

To re-install the alternator, follow the instructions in reverse.
