Civic vti hatch progress

So far i shaved the trunk, first coat of primer layed down, this will be mainly a out of box kit, with only different wheels and lowered hopefully like joehams civic. Maybe some cf on the valances. My problem with this kit is the pillar broke you can see it in the first pic. How can i possibly fix that without breaking it again once painted. I tried super glue but it snapped again. Damn all i want to do is build a kit with no problems, i guess that never happens.

Re: Civic vti hatch progress

Nice start These Civic's were made soo weak! When my A Pillar broke i put some super glue and didn't touch that part until i was finished painting. Its very difficult not to touch that part though so be careful I did get this glue at NNL East that works soooooo strong! Million times stronger than my Loctite Super Glue. Its called PASCOFIX . You could get some at www.pascofix.nwy.at . I got mine for 10 dollars and it brough only 10 grams But i think its worth it There is also a filler that they sell that goes with the glue too. The filler is like this little powder that u place where you want to fill then soak it with the glue and it becomes hard instantly. Really cool stuff

BTW: What wheels do you plan on using? What colour

I feel your paint man All of the kits i have built have had some problems! Some have been really big some have been really small, but i guess there is always a mistake waiting to happen

Yah, these civics wern't built very strong I had the same problem with one of my EGs. Do you think some putty would work? Did your kit have the decals for the windows? They're really good to have.

Re: Civic vti hatch progress

I guess you could cut a line with a dremel tool in the middle of pillar and then insert some SS or Alum rod and then fill it with putty and sand it. It'll git it more support and streinghts.

Re: Civic vti hatch progress

Back with a little progress, final coats of primer laid down, first coat of base coat tomorrow. The pillar was fixed, i just have to be extremely careful with it now. In the pictures the pillars look a little bent that will be fixed as they will be bent into place once the windows come in.

Base coat silver

Nice blue coat done, still need to polish some areas and get rid of the excess compound. Oh don't worry about the pillars they will bend into position once windows are in. Thanks for looking

Re: Civic vti hatch progress

These little cars are so hot, but that blue really blows me away. Are you going to paint the wheels white, or what? I think that thing is just a hot little slap in the face. Great work so far!
