Question 2000 sentra starting problems

Hello All,
I am a newcomer, but any info would be most helpful. For starters my 2ooo sentra se has a starter problem which I have ignored for several thousand miles, and I do mean several thousand, but has never failed to start. Starter has dragged in cold weather but no prob in warm weather. Here is the prob. My wife, kids and I went off for a little trip. When we returned, the nissan would not start. No prob. The lights were left on for 3 days. I charged the battery and she fired right up. Well, 2 days later my wife called me and she would not turn over. Well, I charged again and for a few days no prob. Then nothing again. Went to get a new battery and voila, started right up. Now, here is the problem. 3 weeks later doing the same thing. Thought bad battery, but pulled out and put in 68 chevy truck and fired right up. Put battery out of chevy and nothing again. Have cleaned terminals and disconnected ground at block and no help. Is it the starter or does it have something to do with the lights left on. Never a problem until lights left on. Totally confused in N.C.

Thanks for any info.

mmmmmmmmmm, will answer myself due to further investigation of problem. is the starter. took off today and gave to my local rebuilder. saved bundles and will back on road in 24 hrs. thanks for all the info but that would be none so no thanks. got it all on my own. later all. guess it was not complicated enough or no one knows what they are doing here. mmmmmmmm could it be the last of the 2?????????? probably. this seems as if a waste of my time but just had to check back one last time.
