Re: anyone know were the vin # and other info is

there's usually a plate somewhere on top of the front dash or around the cowl with the vin #. on my 94 it's under the windshield on top of the dash on the driver side. i think it's also somewhere around the engine? under the hood at the front radiator support. if u check the maintanance books there will be a listing of vin codes, like the 4th letter is the year, the 8th is the engine size, etc, something like that.

Re: anyone know were the vin # and other info is

vin # is on at the bottom of the drive side windowsheild.

1st digit place of origin (1 US and 2 Candada)

2nd Digit is company (G=GM)

3rd digit is the division in GM (1=chevy 2=pontic 3=oldsmobile 4=buick 6=cadillac 8=saturn)

4th digit is platform (J= J-bodies)

5th digit is the model cannot rember the codes I think all 1984+ base model cavaliers is a "C"

6th digit is body style 1=2dr coupe 3=2dr convertible 5=4dr sedan

7th digit restraint system 1=manual belts 2=Manual belts w/driver and passenger air bags 4=auto belts

8th digit is the engine type

9th is a check digit

10th is the year code 1=2001 2=2002 and so on

11th is the plant code J=Janesville Wisconsin 7=Lordstown Ohio M and 8=Lansing Michigan S Coahuila Mexico

The last 6 digits are the plant's sequence number

That's about all I know I think most of this info is right.
