history of me...and a dilemma...(long)

as many of you know, or dont know, i have gone through alot of stuff with my celica (accidents, replacing numerous parts, buying motors that never came, shipping problems, etc) i vowed to just fix what was wrong and sell it. But ive come to a point right not where, i just cant. Ive loved this car more than anything, i mean shit...who wouldnt love their first car, ive had this thing scince i was 16, and it still runs just as strong as it ddi the day i bought it...meh ill go through a little history for those of you who dont know

i purchased my celica when i was 16 about 3 days before my b-day, i had $1800 cash and the guy wanted $2100, so reluctantly he bowed down to $1800 for it, but after taxes and all that it came to about $2100, so my parents picked up the rest for my b day present (private dealership) i was the happeyest kid in town, he came with a healthy size ding in my passenger door, a scraped up front bumper, and some clear coat fade ont he roof and a little on the trunk, but i didnt care about looks, i knew this car was just going to be fast

about a week after i bought it i purchased a short ram intake and one of those gay liuttle ebay seonsor thigns (yes dont laugh my asian friend said it would do something and yes i believed him) i noticed a little improvment in power, but yea..

about 3 months after having the car i was on some back roads showing off to a lady friend of mine, a real narrow backroad (bascially a one lane backroad) when i took a 25 right turn at about 40 on my stock radials...this was the first time i found out what understeer was, instinctivly i downshifted and stepped on the gas...(normally i know i woulda hit the brakes but i remember soemthing my dad told me about if the front end over comes loose just hit the throttle, and i trsted EVERYTHING my dad says so ...i guess it payed off)...i barely missed the little guardrail, probably no less then 2 inches...all the while my lady friend swas screaming and yelling saying she would never drive with me again...haha but she did

i basically went a full year withoguht any REALLY close crashes or anything like that, i drove like a normal person after that incident for quite some time, not even one simgle broken part on the celica the whole time up untill about oh february of the next year, this si wehre i became a MUCH more agressive driver, i got my first ticket, (faiyler to yield at a stop sign) and many others things, most of this swpaned to my firend getting a 325+ wheel hp 3000gt...nedless to say i srove to be a better driver than him, and it payed off...kinda

i spent at least 1 day of the week on the backroads (i live in a rual wine country area, in a valley so LOTS of mountains, and lotsa fun) fine tuning my skills a s a driver, and when the time came when my friedn said he was a better driver, he got slapped in the face by a 103 Hp fwd car...we went up to a beryessa road, and it was about oh....3 miles i wanna say uphill...so i knew i had a FAT disadvantage, he had power and the tourqe to climb up the hill...and i didnt, i knew the only way i was gunna beat him was to totally outcorner him (theres no stretches of straightaway its ALL turns and lots of them hella quick, many 15 lefts and rights) so he makes it up the wountain in a time (dont reembmer how much) and then they call my cell and say when to go (we had a guy at the top and bottem of the hill stopwatching and keeping track , dont u love friends? nedless to say i think i beat him by about 10 seconds...he thoguht i cheated, thats all he kept bitching aobut saying oh u went early and i know it...

about a week later i invited him to race me again, but this time downhill...nedless to say that incident ened with me beating my by about half a minut, he got really pissed, and from that point on everyone kept saying eithe i was a good driver, or he was a bad that left me very happy

this incident in february basically spwaned my street racing life, within the next 3 months i had raced my nearly stock celica on around the town sprints and mountain runs and 1/4 miles (i hate the 1/4 so much, its boring) all of this came to an end when i met my GF, she basically gave me the choice of her, or racing...hah to be honest i almost chose racing over her but im glad i didnt now....

on a run i was supposed to do just after i met her there was about 15 cars goign up beryessa, long story short someone went right off a cliff and got pretty fucked up...im glad i didnt go, i woudlnt wanna deal with someone crashing because of a later incident witch fucked me over....

in the summer i got my first job, i made around $2k that summer, and all of it went into my celica scept around $500 (gas food and about 200 leftover)i bought myself a set of 16' adr dtms w falkon xiexs (205-50-16) and lowering springs, as well as headers, cat back exhaust, and a high flow cat...after all this i started a job at an auto salvage place, this is really where i learned most my knowledge about cars, i learned everything here that i didnt already know...most of my previous knowledge was attributed to my dad tho...

around july i got in a bad car accident, i broke 4 ribs, collapsed a lung and didnt walk for about a week....this made me never want to drive again, what had happened was the company i was driving trucks for wasnt srevicing their trucks on a regualr basis, the front brake pads were so worn it was basically metal on metal, and when the brakes got so hott, i touched them and they never let go...the front right locked up and sent me in a crazy 75 mph skid on the highway....right into a 6 foot ditch...the insurance company tore that car apart finding out what was wrong, eventually they got to the brake and found it was so hott the rivits in the breaks fused with the caliper, and didnt let go...so yea i coulda been sue crazy but im not that kinda person....they fucked up, and got engouh fines as it was so i didnt care...if i could go back now i wouilda sued them tho, alot of times at the gym i still get mild rib pain

my clutch had been slipping scince like may of 04' when i bouhght the car the guy had said the clutch was already starting to wear, so im sure all my burnouts and races didnt help... so around august i decided to use my state compensation money (for the accident) to buy an exedy stage 1 clutch...i put that bad boy in and i was gettn awsome launches


i never really raced again untill my friend got his integra in december of 04' year, greanted it was a little faster then my celica, he wasnt as good of a driver and i either outlaunched him or pulled on him with perfect shift points...gotta love F head tourque around that time i purcheased the rest of the stuff i have on my car, like sway bars, all my ignition etc...

around january tho....was a bad time for me...

while on a mountain run, i followed my firend in his red teg for about 3 minuts and finally decided i was going to pass him...i passed him on the inside of a 25 left turn, the turn sloped uphill about 10 feet while cutting hard to the left... i passed him JUST before the turn 9rpoably about 20 yards from it) when i see headlights cmoing, so i try slowign down (at this point im about 55 in 2nd gear) and i go hard into the right lane about halfway into the turn the fucker comes into my lane, i swerve hard right i looose traction on all 4' and i go into oncomeing traffic and flip my ass end around and stop...just in time to see the my friends red teg fly off the road right into a tree at about 45 MPH...

he had a friend with him in the car, the driver pretty much walked away with contusions to his ribcage, his passenger...had to be airlifted to oaklands children hospital, he ruptured his spleen and had bleeding in his stomach...

i pretty much havnt really raced with anyone scince then, yes i still do my mountain runs by myself but ive prety much pushed the limits of my celica, i know how fast and at what turns i can take turns, ive masterd heel and toe downshifting (every turn on a mountain run consists of this except when i m no clutching) no clutch upshifting and downshifting, and im getting pretty good at breaking with my left foot while downshifting no clutch, on the gas w my right foot... i thoguht there was really no need anymore to further my FWD abilities...even tho theres ALWYAS room for improment in driving, you may not have limits but your car does, i dont think thres any way i could further my times on street or up mountains withoguth more performance parts on it
i did purchase a bunch of 4age parts becuase i was going to swap out my 4afe bottem end for a 4age high comp bottem end, use the smallport intake manifold on the 4age and use its throtle body (+4mm bigger) but i ened this project once my firend in his teg crashed

i bought a 4agze mtor in february i think? mabe late january but scrapped this project due to loss of funds and my first real broken part, half shafts....
but lately ive been driving firends cars alot and drove an mr2 turbo a couple weeks ago, and i was pretty much gunna sell my car untill

about 3-4 weeks ago i walk outta a store ( i always park my car hella far from everyone) and some dick head park his car right next to mine, as i walk out he backs out and i see him im like wtf hes guna hit my car, so i bolt over there, and he hits my car...not just once but twice....i kinda beat the shit outta him and end up w a assult charge so yea....

now i sit here on my comp 3 days into my "restore the clelica" project, its in my driveway all sanded down, half primered, and lotsa bondo on it...

but my main purpose of writing this was, i cant rid myself of this car, i just cant...so i have decided to get another job (grrr) and once i have about $1500 (again) i am goign to do my 4agze swap...this cars bottem end isnt going to last much longer with the rigors i put it through (mountain runs etc...) and i figured if i dot the swap not only will i have more fun with it, ill be able to sell it for more

but yea ill post up pics of the ugly shell it is right now probably later today if i can find out where to put my memory stick in and such...but yea i cant just leave these parts sitting in my room forever, and this car DESERVES the 4agze for what i have put it thorugh

(for those of you who dont know im taking the 4agze bottem end and using my F head, im using supercharger etc, but i am using my existing wiereing harness/ecu, but with a programmable fuel computer like safc or soemthing to that extent)

meh hopefully it will be within the next 2 monhts becuase i have senior project due and i really dont have much for it other than the little parts ive put on this thing,

oh yea forgot im planning on running it at the track farily soon...but probably not untill i get some new things in store for it theres still room for improvement with the 4afe....

yea, ive been pretty damn fortunate with my luck situation...actually jsut last week i was pulln e's around town cuz i was bored and i oversteered too much on one and it came back around and i ended up backwards, about 3 inches away from hitting a semi...haha its gettn added to my video im making...lol

origianllay i was just gunna post pieces otf it but i think ill hold off untill its complete, theres about 45 minuts of footage so far, about 30 of it is me dirving 120MPH from my town to okaland, its about 70 miles and i made it in 19 minuts

oh ill show u taht it can hit over 130 my mph guage only goes to 120 and i went WAY past it, prob aroudn 132 be4 the rev limiter hit

haha put it this way most the time in the video im in 4rth gear goin 110 at like 6000...i still have another 8 hundred rpm (lughtweight flywheel added revvs) and i had 5th gear too...

Just let me know when this vid hits the shelves. Oh, make sure ONE THING- dont' mass distribute it. An intrepid cop or two will track your IP or read your lisence plate and ticket you for every violation you show off. Its happened before. They usually end up on TV in one of those lousy worlds ______ videos. My word of caution :-)

ur gt can prob only hit 120 stock....im guessing im hittn about 150-160Hp at the crank as of now with some skillfull tuning thanks to my boy nijir (safc)
i basically hold my own against a nowadays 7th gen gt-s

I'd say more like a GT 5spd... if that. Hit the track and lets see some times.

nope against a gt-s, he had hp on me but i have 200 pounds and about 20-30 more ft lbs of tq on him

and im waiting to goto the trakc again till i get a little somethin if u catch my drift .... last time i went i posted a 16 something with intake headers ehxaust and ....haha i dont remember i have all of it written on the back of the timeslip, i gotta go through my shit and find stuff, even my pinkslip


on another note yea its time to smog again and yea...dont have my carb stickers for anything and i have to take it to the ref so im basically fucked, ima have some friends make some fake ones for me and weld one on my header, if i cant get all that done ima take it to a "smog station" but its 200 bucks, then again my car will never even touch the dyno so we will see i guess, besides i dont think id pass because im running so rich neway and i dont feel like re tuning my safc cuz nijir aint avaliable to tune it nemore

I hope you're going to have more that just a "little" something. The 7th gen GT 5spd runs mid-high 15's with a good driver. You are going to need some crazy weight reduction and possibly an engine swap to get to 7th gen GT-S territory. Nitrous would possibly get you there. I raced a 6th gen STX with a 75 shot and beat him.

no way a 7th gen gt hits mid 15's

its loking at high 16's at the best, mabe even low 17

they have CRAP for low end, all the hp comes at the top, not to mention they have wide gear ratios.

a 5th gen gt/s will beat a 7th gen gt, seen it happen, lotsa celica racers aroudn here buddy...

look at the specs

5th gen 2800 curb
5sfe
135HP
145 TQ


7th gen 2550 Curb
1zzfe
140 Hp
125 Tq

the 20 pounds oftourqe along wth the extra 5 hp and the fact that the tourqe and hp come ALOT sooner than the 1zzfe make up for the weight difference. Not to mention the 5th gen gear ratios are lot closer than the 7th gen making it more ideal...

and in all that gt/s 5th gens only hit 16 highs, so how can a car that isnt as good be hitting a mid 15? not even possible to dip into 15's stock
