'89 Le Sabre -Sealant for Small Oil Leak?
I have an '89 Le Sabre with 165,000 miles, relatively trouble free. Regular maintenance and 3000 mile oil changes since new.
It does drop engine oil, about the size of a dime, and I can't locate the exact source of it. Any recommendations for a quality product to stop/reduce the leaks? Many thanks! |

From my experience in other cars I've owned the "oil leak stop" products really don't help if you have an actual mechanical problem like a gasket that has torn or something, but there are several products that claim to stop leaks in cases where the gaskets have dryed or shrunken etc..
I've had good luck with both Bar's products as well as Lucas products, although i believe the Lucas products are a bit more pricey. You may also try a high mileage oil, as those are supposed to help with small leaks also. Just my opinion. Good Luck. |
