having jeep problem and need help
My 4.0/Auto 88 cherokee has almost every sensor I could find replaced all new injectors even a new starter and it will not start with out starting fluid but runs great once on the road about 19-21mpg hwy. It has spent multiple vacations at a resort for jeeps ( Jeep dealerships ) and they tell me they do not know what is wrong. That is why I have all new sensors (one at a time). Not totaly their fault my jeep is shy and refuses to act up at the doctors office (dealership) even when they keep it for a couple of weeks. Any ideas?

TRY TURNING THE KEY ON AND WAITING 30 SECONDS THEN TRY TO START JEEP. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR FUEL PRESSURE IS RETURNING TO TANK IF JEEP SITS FOR A LONG PREIOD OF TIME, LIKE OVERNIGHT CAN YOU HEAR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY CLICK AS SOON AS YOU TURN KEY ON. DALE [email protected]

Re: having jeep problem and need help
Does it idle smoothly once it starts? Have you checked your fuel pressure with the key on and engine off?
Try opening the throttle a little when you start. You can even remove the air filter. |

after the car has set for a while, is there fuel pressure at the fuel rail? by the way, are you holding on to all the "sensors" you have changed? they can come in handy if you have another jeep, or you could sell them. Not for much but you could sell them cheap. -mike |
