hard start no idle

hey im new to the site
i just bought an 86 b2000 for a daily beater only problem is it wont start and when it does it doesnt stay running
to start it you have to hold the gas pedal to the floor and as soon as you take your foot off the gas it dies
the guy i bought it from put a new cap,rotor,plugs,wires,pcv valve,fuel filter,and timing belt
when i got it i checked the timing marks and reset them replaced the fuel pump had the carb rebuilt replaced the vacuum advance,pickup coil,ignition module,points(armature),ignition coil, and replaced all vacuum hoses which are now routed correctly thanks to factory shop manual diagram
any help with this problem would be appreciated

it sounds like the timming is off.
