Antifreeze leaking

Noticed some antifreeze on the garage floor this morning. I was told by the local shop that mt waterpump needs to be replaced and am just wondering if the leaking antifreeze can come from this problem..or is it the radiator itself?

Park it overbight and then if you see some coolant on the ground note what is directly above the leak.

it is very possably the water pump and it is easy to change yourself for 30-40 bucks i did it myself last month mine is a 85 but mine only had 48k miles before going out on me and i got a lifetime one from napa and when i removed the old pump i could tell it was the same brand but i have been told it is common and well it is very simple to change so try that and see if it helps if you plan ot keep it more then 50k more miles go ahead and get a lifetime one .

Re: Antifreeze leaking

Just did my '98's water pump this past weekend... have also heard quite common. Was easy to see that coolant was coming out of my pump when it failed. Be sure to post if you have any questions about replacement process. One tip I'd give is to make sure the back cover screws of your new or rebuilt pump are tight before you install it... the AutoZone pump I just put on appears to be seeping a bit past the rear cover gasket.

Picked up the pump today, I ahve a friend that is a partsman and a talanted mechanic that will be doing the job on Saturday. I did what ya said LT, and it is definatly coming out from the pump.
Thanks for the info everyone. I'll post back if we have a severe problem.
