Rod bearing repair
Hi
I have a 85 Chevy Blazer S10 V6 2.8L 2WD with 180000 miles on it. I need to replace the rod bearings on it. Does somebody know if this could be done without getting the engine out? It looks like the oil pan doesn't have enough room to come off. Is there maybe some step by step instructions available for this repair somewhere on the net? Thanks for any advice. George |

It will be easier and faster to do it outside the engine compartment and physically, it is almost impossible to do the repair even if you jacked it up to gain enough clearance.
