Re: d15b i find soo many dif facts about this motor why?

well if it is the d15 do a mini-me swap.just take the vtec head from a 1.6, put it on the 1.5, wire it up, get a vtec conroler(apexi is the best),and do the mpfi swap and get the si tranny and axles, then you will have a nice 1.5.but remember you don't want vtec w/turbo. as for the piston i think 1.6 stuff will work.it is mostly interchangeable. just bore it 30 or 40 over and go all forged.it may take a long time to do everythingbut it will be quick, definetly with the bore,it should become a 1.8.it will be as quick a a b16 if not faster.with everything it should be about 4 g's or so if you don't do it yourself.....well at least around hear...prices may vary

Re: d15b i find soo many dif facts about this motor why?

is this the usdm d15 or jdm? if it's jdm it's already vtec, i assume this is the one your talking about cause the HP you have listed, and i have heard 135hp my self but like you said depends on who you ask but there are some sites that sell the motor that give specs like that on them. if this is the jdm motor then you need to convert to obd1 which is what i recomend, a little more expensive but you'll have fewer problem along the way and run the p28 ecu, or you can get the jdm ecu for the motor and not have to convert but you'll still have to change some plugs on your harness, i just finished this swap in my 89 crx and i am running a hf tranny and it's still pretty damn quick, and the gearing is insane, i am at about 90-95mph when i wind out 2nd gear and it don't take it long at all to get there. I am happy w/ the motor and i'll the parts i got for it were for the z6 or a6 either one but i didn't change any internals so i'd still check on that since the displacement is differ. But good luck and if you have any wiring questiions let me know.

yes they are the same, just ask for stuff for a 93 civic si and you'll get the right gaskets and rear seal. 1.6ltr one not 1.5

not all JDM D15B's are VTEC...I have the non-vtec version.

Re: d15b i find soo many dif facts about this motor why?

1.6 is either a longer stroke or bigger bore than the 1.5, something inside has to be different for that to happen i'd think. so i would keep checking on that. cause i am not sure
