AROSPEED coilovers

i'm looking around for some afordable coilovers and i cant pay the $700 - $2000 for tein or any of the other top name brands. i looked on ebay and of course they had those crappy $65 ones on there that i dont trust. i found some Arospeed coilovers and were about $150 - $200 for a set of 4 in an auto mag and i was thinking about getting these, at least they are in my price range. has anyone heard anything bad about them? and are there any other coilovers out there that are about the same price or a little more?

im guessing their slip on coilovers. In that case, your still gonna have to buy shocks, or its highly recommended and you will probably have no choice after riding on your stock shocks after 1 month or so. I have never heard anything about the arospeeds but if they are slipons, you can find slipons in different brands for that price (i.e. omnipower,gc,etc)

Re: AROSPEED coilovers

alright, thanks. i'll probly just get the full shock/coilover combo then. i found some Drop Zone struts/shocks/coilivers for about $300. i read some other treads on camber kits and it sounds like i dont need to get them if i dont lower my ride more then 2.0". is that true? and if i'm getting a adjustable coilover i would need to change the degrees on the camber kits everytime i highten or lower my car. if anyone has any info or just ideas send em this way.

I would get a camber kit for the front and use the washer trick for the rear. I only lowered my car 1.5 inches and had the skunk2 camber kit installed. The guy doing my alignment told me the camber and toe were way off. While the car was on the lift I decided to lower it another 1/2 inch. Then he did the alignment. Well I'm glad I have the camber kit cuz now I got laid off from my job and I wouldn't be able to afford new tires.

whenever you lower your car, the camber is always gonna be off. I strongly recommend the camber kit in the front and the back use washers. And if i were you i would not buy dropzones. Yes they are cheap but understand this, THEY SUCK! U can spend another $100-200 and get way better ones. And yes everytime you raise or lower the car, you will have to go get an alignment again, thats why i have the lifetime plan, cuz i kno im gonna be going there like once every month or 2

Re: AROSPEED coilovers

Aerospeed & Dropzone is JUNK!

When you lower a car the camber and toe changes. If your worried about worn tires, toe in/out will eat tires a lot faster than negative camber. Negative camber only wears the inside edge, incorrect toe wears the whole tire and can greatly affect handling.

That is true EVERY time the ride height is adjusted an alignment and corner weighting should be done.

Since your not looking to spend a lot of money don't buy adjustable ride height unless your actually going to use it for what it was designed for. Which most people don't even have a clue, they're like corner what? Corner weighting!

Get some good H&R springs and the best struts you can afford - Koni Sports(yellow) would be the best "street" strut. If you don't lower more than 1.75" camber wont really be an issue but you could still get camber kits if desired, I rec. Ingalls. You still need to have the car aligned when not using camber kits, they still can adjust toe.

Don't be cheap with suspension or you will regret it.
