1997 Isuzu Rodeo Keyless Entry/Alarm

I just had the alternator replaced in my 1997 Isuzu Rodeo. Since then, the alarm and keyless entry won't work. When I press the lock/unlock button, the alarm just makes a constant sound for 10 seconds, then shuts off. The locks dont' do anything. There are other times when the alarm and locks will work fine. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem or reset the system?

Do an internet search for the reset procedure. The keyless entry ECM is under the driver seat. There is a little green button on the back.
You press it in and hold it and it resets.
I can't remember the exact sequence though.
If you can't find it let me know, I have it somewhere.

dont mess with the controller. If it works sometimes there is aparantly no problem with programming. Normally when they do what you are describing it means there is a door switch thats not closed be sure to check the hood switch also

I lost both keyless entry remotes to my 97 Rodeo and I bought a new one that was shipped to me by the dealer. Got any idea of how to program this thing?

I have just changed the battery on my 97 isuzu now the alarm doesnt respond at all if you can help I would apreciate it. I have searched for the sequence with no luck Thanks in advance...

Sorry, don't know if it is that same for the 97, didn't notice that's what you had before I typed that reply.

Thanks for responding, I had checked that faq 4-5-05 and couldnt get any luck. Ill just keep looking thanks.
