Wish List

I can't remember if I asked for this before, but...

I'd really like a pull-down menu at the tops of the threads that lists all the areas (AF in General, Cars in General, the manufacturers, etc...) so that we could skip a step between going all the way to the top level, then navigating back down in another area. My poor 56K modem would love to skip loading a few pages once and a while. :flash:

Also, the names in the sub-areas of the hosted forums are a bit confusing at times. For example, in the G20 forum, there are sub-categories like "General" and "Engine" that show up in searches without being connected the the G20 forum. Is there some way they could be flagged, like "G20 > General," at least in the search results?

Thanks,
SS2K

P.S. I miss the spell checker.

If add the dropdown then each page that has it will take about 30 seconds more to load, we got around 900 forums right now
I'll try to make it just list the categories though.
And about the search results, I'll see what I can do about the forum name confusion.
The spell checker is unfortunately gone because that site that did it for us is now gone forever..

That's beautiful. Even the top-level list would help.

Thanks again.

hey.. about the drop down menus.. its easy to do some yourself...

i've made a couple of these for the 5 forums i visit most often here...

in your browser (i use IE) go to favorites and then organize favorites. make a folder named Automotive Forums . com.

now, go to a forum you visit often. click on favorites and then add to favorites. bookmark the page into the Automotive Forums.com folder. repeat as desired for the forums you visit most.

if you now go to "favorites" on your tool bar, you have a seperate folder of bookmarks just for AF, point and click and off you go!!! no more navigating through different levels...

enjoy!
