Re: driver side window

You need to adjust the window regulator (the part that moves the window up and down). Once you have the door panel off, check to make sure that the 2 bolts that hold the glass to the regulator ane snug, also make sure the grommets are still in the holes that the bolts pass through. On the inside of the door there are a few bolts that hold the regulator to the door, loosening these bolts will allow you to move the regulator around for proper adjustment. Also check to make sure that the glass slides freely in it's vertical tracks (which may also need adjustment), and that the nylon rollers in the regulator are not clogged up with rust and dirt. It'll take a little trial and error to get the window adjusted properly, but with a little patience, it can be done.

Re: driver side window

Yep, it's probably toast. I had to do the same thing when I first got my current CRX. The first few inches of the cog on the driver side regulator was completely stripped so the window would just slide up an down if I pulled on it.

Not to steal the thread.... *hijacks* But will this work for our cars? I was thinking of going this route after I get the swap out of the way.

Nope.

That kit is designed for ol' Hot Rods with flat glass and won't work with the slight curve of a newer cars window. Some 1G Integras have power windows, it will be easier to swap these in than trying to make the kit work. I've noticed that most of the door internals are similar (if not the same) with most Honda models, so the power window motor from most any Honda might work. For example, I picked up a set of power door lock solenoids from an '87 Accord that screwed directly on to my CRX door lock mechanism without any modification (I have to have something to unlock the doors when I shave the locks). I've also thought about going with power windows, but I'm not sure if I want to add any more weight to the car, and then there's the whole hole in the door panel left over from the window crank issue.

Re: driver side window

I was planning on doing custom door panel thing.... But I'll look into the power windows from another car... And thanks for the solenoid idea... I've been wanting to do that as well... Even have a place to mount the switches for everything... Oh well... Was just hoping to be able to use that instead of their other kits that involve the peice over the crank gear... Back to the drawing board.

Oh... And the 1G Integra's are the 86-89's right?

The solenoids are only strong enough for power locks. If you're planning to shave the handles you'll need something stronger. I am planning to only shave off the big ol' ring in the door for the lock, then wire them into my alarm for remote access.

And yes, 1G Integra = '86-'89

Re: driver side window

I just want to add power door locks. So that would work just fine. Just have to wire up a switch for the locks, and two for the windows... Was thinking of making a small hump between the shifter and the e-brake. Place the lock switch in the middle and the window switches on either side. Do you think the power mirrors would work from a 1G Integra LS?

Re: driver side window

Nope.

The mounting points on Integra mirrors are different to allow for the window frame (which CRX's don't have).
