3.8ltr aftermarket coils

Have any of you guys tried any of the aftermarket coils for the 3.8's? I ordered a set of MSD coils for mine last night, just wondering if it is going to make a noticable difference at all? I had to order them anyway, cause one of the stock ones had gone bad. The aftermarket coils were about the same price as oem coils.

You just wasted your money.

You have the same ing system I do (in a nuttshell, couple of minor differences) and Stock turbo 3.8 ing. have been in the low 8's with no modification.

Well seeing how your coilpak went bad. Then you did not waste you money. Just don't expect any differences

Re: 3.8ltr aftermarket coils

I didn't think that there would be, I just wasn't sure. The one that is bad was SOB to track down, trying to figure out what was wrong with my car.

When you say "low 8's", is that 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile?

yup qtr. mile on stock coilpack. Turbo cars need alll sorts of spark when under 30+ PSI the higher the cylinder pressures, the harder it is for the spark to jump the gap

LOL my car is not in the 8's

I run mid 11's on pump gas and low 11's on race fuel and a little bit more boost.

I am building an eight/nine second engine and car.. Gonna take me a bit though. Safety shit is expensive as hell.

Re: 3.8ltr aftermarket coils

My brother and I just went in together on a dragster (with no drive train), hope to have it done by the end of the summer.

Even mid 11's is still pretty impressive.
