How much is my engine worth?

Type: 383 stroker, 4 bolt: turn key, 0 miles.

Short block:
Speed pro forged piston (10.6:1 compression W/ 64cc head)
Eagle crank shaft
Speed pro bearings.
Melling High volume oil pump.

Long Block:
Edlebrock 64cc RPM performer heads
Edlebrock Chromoly push rods
1.6 rockers (not roller)
Crane Cams cam shaft

Extras:
Edlebrock Airgap intake manifold
Edlebrock chrome valve covers
Chrome Reman'd Alt.
Edlebrock water pump
Edlebrock 750 CFM manual choke carb. (new, not reman'd)
Bosch Platinum plugs.
Stock pullies.

I also have a transmission that mates (4 Speed manual...Saginaw..(stock trans in a 1st gen firebird))

I am curious on how much y'all think I can get fior it, cause just sold the car it was in...and have no need for the motor.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I'd personally say no more then about 2800 dollars.

I would say that depending on the valvetrain and who it was built by, it should be worth anywhere from $3,000 to $3,500. If you be very descriptive and tell all the details including the who did the machine work and all the measurements of the bore and the crank surfaces, Ie.( like if it is standard or ground 10/10) You could go on ebay and sell it for decent money. Hope this helps.

Re: How much is my engine worth?

VERY important question: Which Eagle crank? Cast or forged? And which rods?

In general, a "used" engine (performance, still running) is worth about 1/2 what you paid for it to be built. If it has all quality parts, and no time, 2/3. It sounds unfair, and probably is, but the market is loaded with junk, so buyers must be wary.
As stated above, give as much specific detail as possibel. Advertise it on the various firums and classified sites. Best of luck.

I''ve been trying to get ahold of the company that actually machined and assembled the block and it's internals. I know the basics; I know it was decked, magged, and hot tanked...I spent total about 3900-4100 on the motor, in parts and labor (block prep), so I am hoping to get at least 3700 out of it, because I know that people are also wary about their trust in people who actually built the engine, but it a pretty sound set up, never been started, and is complete with everything but a distributor.
