Fuel Injector Cleaner on 93-octane
my 94 si has 135000 miles on it and im curious if using a fuel injector cleaner that i could buy at walmart or autozone for like 10$ or less will get me some more gas mileage or even some more power, you would think that a premium octane gas however would need less cleaning, but i base that statement on absolutly nothing, so im asking has anyone used a pour-in do-it-yourself fuel injector cleaner and how well do they work... ive heard that certain ones can damage things in your fuel pump or something, but all of those claims were made by domestic car manufactures like GM and chevy. thanks -brandon

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner on 93-octane
I used them a few times in my 94 vtec. I never heard anything about them damaging the engine, and I know I didn't have any problems. On the other hand, I wouldn't say I saw any noticable changes either, except for maybe a slight improvement in throttle response.

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner on 93-octane
It removes carbon deposits - why not? I usually use a bottle during my yearly maintenance after a winter.
