I am in Seach and Rescue. Is it worth putting a deep water fording kit on my 94 chevy suburban with a 6.5 ltr diesel engine? If so what do I need to do and what do I need to buy? and Where from?
Thanks in advance. Tackerv |

Re: Deep water fording kit for a 94 sub diesel?
All you really need is a snorkel, although I would seal up all the electrical connectors with RTV sealant. I would just make a snorkel from PVC pipe.

Also, you need to stack all the vents. Front & rear differential and tranny should be all you have to do. Just get a hose that will fit on the vent, and run it up over the waterline. On a pickup, it's easy to do because of the gap between cab and bed. On a Suburban, I would run them up to the top of the snorkel. Or you could just drill a hole in the PVC to run the hoses in. I'd be a bit hesitant to have anything venting into my intake though.
