Is it possible to install T-tops?

I noticed when I was redoing my headliner that the roof of my car (frame-wise) is the same as a car with T-tops. Has anyone here ever heard of a solid top Camaro being converted to a T-top roof?

Re: Is it possible to install T-tops?

after you get that done u need to invest in sub frame connectors and anything else you can get to to stiffen the ole girl, because when you get into a nice curve that car is gonna flex like hell, twist and bend and i wouldnt be surprised if u end up throwing the alignment of the doors, hood and trunk off. so u may wanna look into what all supports you will need as well.

Re: Is it possible to install T-tops?

its very do-able. it is a LOT of work. more than just a couple of cuts and throwin in the t-tops. definitely a job that i would take to a pro. i have however seen a site that has a step-by-step. it was a very long project and the guy was a body specialist i think...

yes same site I saw

there were 2 guys one a body specialist one an interior specialist. Needless to say they KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. If you don't, I'd definately suggest have someone do it FOR YOU. =)

Re: Is it possible to install T-tops?

i believe this job is probably very do-able, if left to the pros. But even then i am sure you would spend some big bucks. I suggest looking to see how much a car with t-tops from the factory costs and then see how much you could sell yours for and maybe get a set of t-tops that way.

Re: Is it possible to install T-tops?

i agree because my roomate (whom i sold my mustang 2) wants to put a targer top or what ever the hell its called (when the entire roof comes off) on her car and the cost is off the damn hook! i was like damn that i wouldnt pay, so i know doing t-tops wont be much better

Yeah but if you know people, they will give you a discount, but it always depends where you go.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna nix this idea. I pulled back my A pillar and took a closer look at my roof metal. I have a buddy and his uncle who do really good paint and body work, but I still dont think I'd be happy with end result if it'll effect my handling and whatnot. Oh, and as for selling my car, skeerrrewwww that!!!
