emergency brake cable help

Does anyone know the length or can measure the length of a rear emergency brake cable that connects to the caliper from a 1997 SHO? I found a picture of one online and I think it will work but it didn’t give a length for it, all I know about it is it came from a 1997 SHO. I tried the parts stores but you have to special order the cable and pay full price before it’s ordered.

I’m looking for a cable around 30 inches in overall length, maybe a cable from a different year will work if someone could measure those?

This is for a project I’m doing on my 1991 Thunderbird.

Thanks.

The cable I'm trying to get a measurement for is a 96-99 left rear e-brake cable for disk brakes. Does anyone know the measurement or can measure the one on there car?

Sorry honestly I don't know, but the reason why I posted is that I am curious on what you're up to . I don't know how strong it needs to be or what kind of ends it has, but you can get a throttle cable for a minibike in 32" 36" etc. lengths for $6...

I installed cobra front and rear calipers (13" front and 11.65" rear) and need two identical cables around 30" long to actuate the e-brakes on the rear calipers. The minibike cable is a good idea but I don't think it would be stong enough.

Haha, nice. You're probably right, but I don't remember my ebrake cable on my Ranger being much thicker. Although, it is a very light truck.. You'll have to let us know how it worked out for you.

Re: emergency brake cable help

I just test drove it a few minutes ago and all I can say is...wow.

Still need the cables though.
