Re: I Need Help!

a few things i can think of, sway bars and performance suspension (that is if you plan on throwing your cobra into some high speed turns), i don't know much about cobras (or really much at all), but if it's a manual, a new fly wheel, and a short throw shifter to make changeing gears quicker and smoother, tires for grip, and (as i recently found out) changeing the gears in your rear diff., you can find out some more about that in my frecent an first thread (and d- proud of it) "changeing throttlebody....anything else"
how much woudl this coast you, well it's late at night and i'm tired so i can't really give an estimate...but that's jsuta few things i can think of for now. oh and for a sound system...i personally would suggest kicker sub's. And, a nice paint job can coast quite abit, i woudl suggest maybe some vinyl graphics, nothing really out rageous in design, just simple like. but that's me, and i'm basically a newb, so if a few of the other guys (probably quite a few) disagree with what i say, i would porbably listen to them.

just thought i would ahve my say in something

Re: I Need Help!

ok it bugs me when i don't go custom crazy when someone asks help for interior and cosmetic advice. i guess the only real thing stopping me is the fact you have 8000 to spend (that being a damn good amount) yet want performnace at the same time (i know who doesn't)

so here ya go, in regards to that sound system (this JUST may be a little outrageous but bear with me here), have someone fabricate two A-piller double gauge pods, designed for left and right, and for 3" speakers. buy four of these little 3" face blowers, and have them installed. Next, some 5 1/2" or 6 1/2" speaker molds designed to fit or replace your kicker panels pointing up towards the driver and passenger. next of course cahnge out the stock system, but (this is assumeing the interior is set up similar to the recently out dated mustang model (2000, 01,02, etc.)) the back 6x8", or what ever type of speakers they are, you can remove those and have the whole slanted a little, say the fron end of the hole dips down and the back in lifted up, that way it's still low profile but is more directed into the cab, also maybe some 4" speakers in the quarter panels by the heads of the rear passengers (i can't remember if the cobra has the "user friendly" back seat like a standard mustang), or maybe have the hole molded on the quarter panel so that it's directed towards the passengers and the fore of the cab. Also look into a Flip Flop Scuicide trunk, maybe some stronger springs in the trunk so you can put your amp under the trunk hood and the trunk will still open itself up, and then two kicker subs, 2 6x8" and maybe 3 6 1/2". i don't know how you woudl set that up, an i can't really describe how i would , but let's just say you wouldn't have any trunk space left. Also, an in-dash DVD player, ya know with the flip up LCD screen.

Then the interior itself, maybe some vinyl dies on the quart panel, A-Pillar, sections of the door, air vents and so on. you know, give it a real two tone look on the inside, but if you do that i woudl make the color match the color of the text on the DVD player (or whatever head unit you choose), or what ever color is oppisit or complimentary to it on the color wheel. And gauges, you hsould be able to buy som pdz that mold to the top of the dash to go along side your already exsiting gauges, and maybe a reverse glow background for the stock gauges.

now i can go on forever, literally, so i'll stop at that, ask if you are actually intersted in hearing more. But like i said, it's outrageou, just a smidgeon. The one issue iwth all that, is that it's not really all that performance friendly, it woudl definitely ad tons of weight, but hopefully some of that woudl give you a few ideas of your own.

Re: I Need Help!

How about a drivers license?

It would take a whole lot of stupidity for somebody to buy their kid who's a year away from even getting their license a 320 horsepower car, and on top of that throwing some money at them and saying mod it. If you look in his profile it says his birthday is March 21, 1990.

Re: I Need Help!

that's true isn't it....seroiusly. i mea i was one of the lucky few that had their parents buy them a car and pay insurance, but i didn't have my car till i had my liscense, which was about 1 year and a half after i got my learners....sadly enough. and a cobra, hell no i got a pontiac grand am se (a little 2.4L). Hell i still drive it (well duh i'm i haven't been driveing long), personally i love it, but it woudl still be nice to have something else.....i guess that's why i obsses with my friend's mustang and i'm always helping him out desing somethign for it, or think of performance solutions. though i've fond i have a long way before i try to install anything......oh right we're helipng you customise your car ...the one you have yet won't be able to drive for a while...(what a waist of good horse power..tsk tsk tsk)

not to mention that my parents bitch at me if i think of screwing with anythign on my car that doens't need fixing..and even then..all they'll let me do is pull a few dents out here and there, toay i jsut got finishing the bondou on my hood (a section of the front of the hood was bent inwards so i had to pull it out, though before i could a bone head friend of mine thought he woudl try out fixing it himself to try and help, left some major dents in there from using pliers, and abuseing the body hammer, and because the hood is pressed double sheeted sheet metal...i couldn't pull some dents out....soo wanted to kill that guy )

oh one suggestion for when you are driveing it, NEVER....EVER...put off an oil change, you hit a few high revs and your engine is screwed. i found this out the hard way....thouhg...all my sensors were being screwy anyway so i wasn't really sure, still shoudl ahve checked it anyway....lost my liscense because of that though that's another story for another time
