b18c1/c5 or b16a1?

I have a 92 civic hatchback DX (yea yea i kno, DX sux). Anyway, I plan to swap the engine. Now, my options/choices are; Supercharged b16a1, supercharged b18c1, or all motor fully build b18c5 (type r). What are your guys' opinions? Thanks

Re: b18c1/c5 or b16a1?

1.) be thankful its a DX. mines a CX.
2.) all motor, its how its supposed to be, and you'll get more respect.
3.) if you are swapping the engine anyway, you should be glad to have a DX..lighter than an Si.

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

i think you should go with the b16a. but you would have to get the b16a2 cuz the b16a1 is from 88-91 i believe and putting an older engine in your car is illegal i've heard. plush the b16 is beautiful and they sound like gods with cams in them. they supply a good bang and they are 1000 dollars cheaper than the b18c.

WHAT?! I do not think a word of that made any sense! Anywho, if you have enough money to swap a type R, do it.

Yeah, that is also true, and one has a cable tranny, 92+ has a hydro.

if you want to be unique get the b16b. those motors are wwwwaaaaaaaaaay expensive. but you will kick major ass. but you will kick major ass if you use the money that you were gonna use to swap a b18c5 and soop up a b16a. especially if it is a jdm b16a2. i think you'll be faster that way.

this is a no brainer B18C5 for sure. then bore it out to a 2.0L and get some new cams.
