No Check Engine Light in 93 Grand Prix 3.1L

I'm working on a 93 with a 3.1L for a friend. Vehicle sat over the winter and was started weekly. One day it wouldn't fire but turned over fine. Spray ether in it and it fires just fine. We suspected fuel pump since we weren't getting any pressure in the fuel rail. Place new pump in tank but pump won't spin up. Found test lead for fuel pump and applied power. Pump spins up great and gives us plenty of fuel pressure. Still no fire. Suspect injectors aren't opening. Tried to pull codes but noticed check engine light won't come on at all. Not even when the key is first turned. Checked bulb and it works fine. Is this a dead ECM? Any ideas? Something else I should check???

I swapped relays with same results. We had to finally take it to the dealer. It was a broken wire going to the fuel pump. Dealer found it immediately once they hooked a computer up to it. I suspect it happens a good bit since they found it so fast.
