go to e bay and get a cold air intake for your truck, that would be the best, and a hell of a lot cheaper then the k and n, its the same thing, with k and n your paying for the name, not added quality

i disagree. K&N is a very good brand. I actually like them more then i do AEM. if you buy an Ebay air filter expect Ebay results. The filter may be poor quality and lead to trouble down the road. At least K&N gives you a warranty.

Re: 2000 ZR2 air filter

I do kinda like K&N air filters, just because they are good quality. However I really doubt their power increase claims. I wouldn't bother buying one for my present cars, but I might buy one for my hotrod when it's done
I think that your paying plenty for the name and the cost of their cleaning and oil kits is outragous.

Just search the web for what appears to be the best air filter for the money. There are several brands out there, all of them good.

I just got a k & n drop in airfilter. Just fits in your origional air box. and did a dyno. same h/p increase as my friend who spent like 300 bucks on his cold air intake. thats on a 2.2, could be different on your truck. my filter was only like 10 bucks. whatever you do. go on ebay. There a lot cheaper.

Did you by any chance do a before and after back to back dyno test?
If so can you show us the dyno figures?

I would like to see someone do just that and prove that there's a power increase. I would hope that they would use a new stock air filter though since it's the only acurate way to compair them

It will be foolish to think that a $200 K&N version will some how be better than the $50 ebay intakes.

Save your money and don't pay for the name.
