on an automatic, i've seen where WAY too much can blow out the valve body, or it could just swell up and blow the seals....depends on how much the "to much" is.
On a manual, is sorta the same thing, except there is no valve body in it....in most cases, if the vent hole is not plugged up, it will just come out of there until the pressure of the extra fluid is relived. If the vent hole is plugged, and there is way to much fluid, it can start leaking at the seals as well. |

Re: To much Tranny fluid
it's really a bad thing to put too much oil in anything... It overpressurizes whatever you put it in.
Plus oil does expand when it gets hot making it even worst yet |

Re: Re: To much Tranny fluid
Yeah id craul under it and drain it out til its in the safe range after you have ran it through the gears a couple times. Just make sure when you check it the truck is running and you have ran it through the gears a couple times that way you get out any air pockets.

Re: To much Tranny fluid
Over filling a tranny is really bad.
But remember, you check the tranny fluid when the engine is running. If there is too much, have someone put one of those pumps down the dipstick hole to pump a little out or consider this a great time to go get your transmission flushed and refilled with new fluid and a new filter.
