Remote entry in sync with Neons

I want to wire neons into a sound detector, a switch, and also have them turn on with the rest of the car lights when I unlock the car with the remote. How should I go about wiring this?

Re: Remote entry in sync with Neons

you want them to turn on with your INTERIOR lights? I dont think you'll be able to have them turn on with your interior lights, w/o them going off when they are off too. It would seriously take some intense wiring, I dont think its worth it unless you are an auto electronics GENIUS. No exxageration on the GENIUS part.

Re: Remote entry in sync with Neons

you should get a few 6 inch neons and put them under your dash or something, and wire them with your interior lights only, and then have your other neons that will flash with the music. I think having your neons to be dual purpose will be too hard.

OK this is not as hard as u make it sound. All you have to do is use Y type connections from the power wires of the neons so that it can get power from two sources, hook one up to the music response/switch, and the other to a relay connected to your door trigger.

Re: Remote entry in sync with Neons

Wouldnt that send power right back to the interior lights every time the noise switch sends power to the neon? I would think he would have to use a relay so that it cutts all power flowing back to the interior lights when the door is shut. And sending power back into the noise swithch when you open the door could'nt be good for it. You could bring the y cables into an electronic tech and have him add diodes to them so that the power only flows one way.

Good advice all around, although I'd add the diodes myself

relay much easier and more efficient. if you power your neons off your internal lighting you will start blowing fuses (usually ctsy lights rated with 5a fuse) I used a relay off the headlight switch so they light with alarm sounding and when driving...

Re: Remote entry in sync with Neons

wouldnt there be a way to wire the neons to the speaker of the siren?. that way when it chirps. the neons will flash.. an if ur alarm goes off the neons will stay lit.
