66 Impala Convertible: Air or Liquid?

I have a 66 Impala Convertible that is about 1/3 way through the SS-Cloning process (already has a 327 engine, bucket seats, various small things). Eventually, i want to put some subwoofers in the trunk, n get some Torq Thrust II wheels (17's or 18's). I want to lower it, and be able to adjust height easily. I was thinking airbags, but this guy in my Suspension & Chassis class says hydraulics would be better. I do NOT want to hop, or pose it in any "odd" ways like people typically do with hydros. I just wanna be able to "frame-drop" it for shows and parking, lift it up to about 2" below stock height, and then be able to lift it to stock for speed bumps n stuff (theres some brutal speed bumps here). So, would air or hydraulics be better? My dad said that some of his old freinds in California had lowriders n he didnt like the way they steered. I want the ride quality to be as close to stock as possible. this is gonna be my "luxury" car. im buyin a sports car for everything else.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Matt

Your kidding right!!!!!!! have you ever seen a car from under the hood or under the body or in the trunk with hydralics. The car is totally butchered to get all the junk in not to mention a trunk full of batteries. Air is simple.
