Question lacking boost

hey guys i have a 1990 eagle talon awd turbo and im lacking boost. i can hear the turbo spooling so i dont think the turbo is a problem. i checked the intake wheel and it seems to be okay everything is intact. but i havent checked the exhaust wheel, will this prevent me from getting boost? or is their a lose hose somewhere? its a used car that i bought to let you guys know. it was building boost at 8psi,then it went down to 3psi what could be the problem..any help will be greatly appeciated. thank you

MAJOR BOOST LEAK...my auto runs 11-12 psi..you should be right around that. Check everything that you possibly can. Search, there's a way you can make a boost leak tester for fairly cheap..think its on vfaq.com. Check manifold for cracks, hoses, etc. Good luck.

Re: lacking boost

Definately a boost leak... well most likely... first thing to do is check ALL pipe connections from turbo to throttle body...
Here's the page for a boost leak tester... http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

Re: lacking boost

Check for boost leaks from the turbo to the throttle, and also check all of your VAC hosing. Also, your exhaust wheel spins on the same shaft as the intake, so it is not because of the exhaust wheel.
