Roadmaster 1993 Wagon Leveling System
The factory leveling system has always worked well for me. Now, for some reason, the compressor will not turn on. I removed the compressor/motor assy. and checked it on the bench. The motor runs fine, relay works fine. I have a spare switch assy. which I plugged into the harness, but it does not activate the compressor, either. The multi-wired connector to the chassis must be where the problem is. Anyone have further info?

Re: Roadmaster 1993 Wagon Leveling System
Problem was corroded factory wire splice under body on driver's side where the automatic leveling control harness exits the rear floor pan. There is one orange 12 volt #14 wire spliced into four #18 wires. This splice had been factory soldered and taped, but water and salt did a job on it.
I used a butt splice filled with silicone rubber and taped thoroughly. Hope this lasts!! It's probably a common problem on Roadmaster wagons in the snow belt. |
