Help!!!!!! rack pinion prob. S.O.S

Okay, I just bouht a 97 ford explorer 4X4, The rack and pinion seals work leakin so I replaced the rack and pinion unit, connected all the lines good and it took me like 3 days of work, filled up the pump res. and turned the wheel back and forth to fill the pistons, I filled re. to proper level then started it, heres were everything went in the shiter, as soon as I touche the steering wheel it whent nuts and keept going back and forth with alot of force and keeps going till I turn it off it scared the crap out of mee and almost took off my arm someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did u bleed the air out of the lines?? Sounds like a lot of air is trapped in there.

I believe there was someone that posted how to do it a while back in the forums. Also you could try your local dealer and ask them how to do it. I think, there is a bleeder screw somewhere on the steering box but I am not sure. Good Luck

Lines were crossed, my stupid mistake, fixed it and works fine, thanxs for your help guys
