My personal thoughts... not that anyone cares! LOL
Just wanted to say hi to everyone, and let you know of MY experiences with automotive polishes/waxes/compounds...
First off, I'd have to say hands down, the best compund is definitely 3m perfect itIII. I do Tub and tile reglazing for a living, and whenever there are any contaminents in the paint after I finished painting (which is unavoidable being that I'm painting in a house and not a controlled enviorment), I use the 3m compund with a dewalt buffer... TOP NOTCH!!!! Works wonders, but to any who arent familiar, don't do it too often, you can easily remove too much paint/clear coat if done too frequently. Secondly, I've always been a big fan of Maguires for waxes, always thought it was the best stuff out there, but I decided to try something different (today in fact) and that was a new (or so I believe) product by dupont that's a Teflon wax with carnuba in it. I dont know if it actually has teflon, but IMHO, the stuff was horrible. I used microfibre towels to try to remove the haze, but my arms ended up becoming sore after just ONE fender. The stuff is impossible to remove... STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WORK OUT WITHOUT HAVING TO GO THE THE GYM!!!! ;-) Ok, and my favorite subject... Polishes.... I used to help a friend out at a body shop and he was EXTREMELY PARTIAL to Wizards polish... the great thing about this stuff is it does give the wet look one desires, and even better, it smells nice so there's no caustic/nauseating odor to be concerned with. What I'VE been using lately is a product I've found at the Philly Auto show about a month ago called Ibiz. It's a polish/cleaner that goes on easy, and buffs off easier!!!! This stuff really does make a night and day difference. If your finish is already too far gone, it wont do much, but if you're looking to just add a bit more shine to an already shiny surface, this stuff works wonders. The package came with some spray on cleaner/wax that I thought was absolute garbage, a leater protectant (forget it, I use Lexol), and some automotive car wash sample (which I haven't had the pleasure of using yet). Over all, the polish serisouly works wonders though. I also used this stuff that I bought off QVC a few years back called Buffallo something or other and that stuff was good too, but I can honestly say I've never been happier with an automotive product than I am with Ibiz's polish. When I tried to wax my car after I used the polish (waxed with the Dupont garbage), I wanted to see how water ran off of it. I didnt do one spot on my hood with the Dupont to see how the water reacted to the two different products. THE DUPONT LET THE WATER JUST STAY THERE WITHOUT BEADING OR SHEETING OFF!!!! The IBIZ ON THE OTHER HAND... well, it beaded and ran off like water on a ducks back! I'm not telling everyone to go out and buy this stuff, especially since you have to order it direct from their website (which I dont have on hand), but if you are into trying a new product out, you may want to take a look at this stuff, it may amaze you the way it did me!!!! Sorry for making this sooooo long, but thanks for reading! Troy |

3m's Perfect It line is some good stuff in the right hands. By that I mean some one experienced with high speed polishing.

I agree, but like you said, in the right hands... ANYONE WHO READS THIS, KEEP THAT IN MIND!!!! if you intend on BUFFING your car, please be careful, as I stated in the first post, you can overdo it so don't be that guy. I've seen it first hand when people overdo it and end up having to spend top dollar on having to get their car entirely repainted (and believe it or not, it was someone famous in pop culture that did it, they thought they were doing something good for their car).

you say "I also used this stuff that I bought off QVC a few years back called Buffallo something or other and that stuff was good too"
I know of that stuff it's called Buffalo Milke that shit works wonders, that is the only thing I'll put on my motorcyclethe only downside about it is that you have to order that factory direct, but I want to try that stuff you call Wizards Polish and if it's as good as you say it is I just might switch. The only thing that goes on my car is that Mothers Carnuba Cleaner Wax that shit will restore a DESTROYED paint job. I bought my blazer after it sat up for like 7 or 8 years as a parts vehicle and I put 2 coats of this stuff on it and it looked like I had a new paint job. that was about a year and a half ago and I can still see myself in the hood of it.

As far as the Wizards stuff goes, I can honestly say that it's as easy to use as Buffallo Mike's Polish and it's an even nicer finish to boot!!!! The only thing is if you want the perfect shine from it, I totally suggest using a cheapy buffer with a wet pad... that way works really well. Let me know your honest opinion on it if you use it and also reply with the ease of use for the Mothers Carnuba wax/cleaner. Thanks Stoned! Troy |

Re: My personal thoughts... not that anyone cares! LOL
the mothers is just as easy/hard as any other buffon buff off wax, it comes in a red tin, but it isn't exacly cheap. I used the mothers on my white buick century after I washed it and it turned that thing about two shades whiter, and I thought that it was pretty clean! One thing about the mothers though: if you let it dry on a place that has some paint oxidation it will give you hell to come off but thats due to the fact that it is removing the oxidation/dead paint. Basically it is like getting a new clearcoat put on your car.
as far as thiswizards polish can I get this at autozone or where would I go to find it and how much does it cost.

Wizards can be bought at any local paint supplier (you can try a PPG or DuPont Dealer) and see if they have it, but most body shop supply houses carry it. As far as auto zone or Pep boys or Strauss... I dont think they have it. I've never seen it there, but your best bet is just trying even your local auto supply store that's of higher quality (napa, delco, etc.) If you are really looking into purchasing it though, keep in mind that for a standard size 11oz (I think that's what they are) container, it runs about 15 bucks. WORTH EVERY DIME!!!!
I'll look into where you can buy it right now and then i'll repost where it can be purchased. Troy |

here's a site that sells it relatively inexpensive...
http://www.aawsales.com/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=356 and here's a direct link to wizards product line... http://www.wizardsproducts.com/testimonials.html hopefully one of them will help. You can also contact them to see where the nearest dealer in your area is. Troy |
